Every Shot Must Have a Purpose: How GOLF54 Can Make You a Better Player, offers an integrative approach to the game of golf.  Rather than prescribing a set of rigid principles with regard to stance, grip and swing to everyone, it incorporates the physical, technical, mental, emotional and social parts of a player's game.  This is the unique selling point of Every Shot Should Have a Purpose.  The VISION54 principle is a pre-shot routine that prepares you for play.  The principle can even apply to life in general.  VISION54 is so named because the authors believe it is possible to shoot a 54 (making a birdie on every hole of a par-72 course) if a player "has the right mind-set and well-honed intuitive power." There are many books on the psychology behind the game of golf, and several in this category.  This book comes highly recommended by readers who have found it has helped their game.

The authors Pia Nilsson and Lynn Marriott own GOLF54, the #1 ranking golf school in Golf Magazine's "Top 25 Golf Schools in the United States".  Nilsson coached Annika Sorenstam as well as the Swedish golf team and has spoken at numerous golf conferences worldwide.  Marriott has a similarly long list of accomplishments, including being the Golf Digest  #2 ranked Women Teacher in America 2010 and is a class A Teaching Professional for both the PGA and LPGA.

This must be purchased separately but compliments the principles taught in the book.

For a neat little book, this product has a lot to offer.  VISION54 smacks somewhat of being a gimmick but many people have found it to be helpful and providing solid advice based on solid principles.  With the online resources, software and courses, the book forms the part of a vibrant package which should make learning and improving your golf fun and educational.
